The Coventry Preparatory School Ethos

When
Coventry Preparatory School was founded in 1920 by Revd.
Swallow, he wished to create a school that was a happy place
in which children were cared for and in which they could
grow, a home from home and a place to inspire learning. This
still lies at the heart of the School. Visitors to Coventry
Prep School frequently comment upon the School's happy, family
atmosphere and the openness and friendliness of its pupils.
The maximum class size is 16 children. Coventry Prep School
is not academically selective and yet through the dedication
of its staff and careful nurturing of the individual it has
high academic standards. At Coventry Prep the full range
of talents are encouraged and celebrated. The School looks
to inspire academic scholarship but also seeks to develop
children's creativity, confidence and a love of sports and
the outdoors. Scholarships are awarded for English and Mathematics
but also Music, Art, and all-round ability.
Children entering the School at 7 years of age or transferring
from the School's Pre-Prep to Preparatary Departments may
be entered for Scholarships.
Scholarship examinations and assessments are held at the
end of January.
